For in-mold painted applications, a new, water based mold release agent specifically formulated for polyurethane "Low Gloss" parts is now available from Huron Technologies Inc. of Leslie, MI. Release Coating 7405 gives excellent performance in the manufacturing of automotive interior components including armrests, instrument panels and door side panels. This release agent has also passed rigorous paint adhesion tests, specifically the GM 4350 certification performed by external testing services. Gloss readings using a 60° angle gloss meter ranged from 1.0 to 1.2 on black interior components.
Benefits Include:
- A uniform, low gloss appearance over the entire surface area.
- Low build up between mold cleaning cycles; thus lengthening the time between cleanings.
- Part surface is further enhanced with a "dry surface feel" that adds to the luxurious appearance and feel.
- Minimizes "scuff and mar" surface characteristics.
Available in 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums.
Huron Technologies provides standard and custom formulated release coatings for a wide range of applications.
