After extensive lab testing and a validation program conducted at a customer's composite molding facility, Huron Technologies new Mold Release Coating 854 was selected as a superior mold release coating for composite molded parts. The product is ideal for shutters, columns, garage door panels and other architectural products. Mold Release Coating 854 has also been tested and validated for use in molding aerospace components.
Benefits of Mold Release Coating 854
- Smooth finished part surface with no evidence of dry spots
- Forms a tough, uniform barrier on mold and leaves virtually no residue after de-molding
- Waterbase and environmentally friendly with no VOC's or harmful vapors/odors
- Contains no solvents which eliminates combustible liquids, fear of injuries from fire and storage problems without cure time
- Contains special surfactant and polymeric, non-silicone parting agents that assure good bonding and adhesion
- Surface tension allows the un-cured composite sheet to stay in place without moving around during lay-up
Release Coating 854 is a water thin liquid and can be easily applied by spraying or wiping. Available in 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums. Huron Technologies, Inc develops and manufactures release coatings for a wide range of composite molding processes as well as mold release agents for thermoset plastic molders.
